"A Christmas Story," the classic 1983 film based on the fanciful childhood memories of radio humorist Jean Shepherd, began as a series of articles in Playboy magazine in the 1960s.
Shepherd's original articles are among the chapters in his 1966 collection, "In God We Trust: All Others Pay Cash."
